Ancak bu dalgalar\u0131 do\u011frudan g\u00f6zlemlemek \u00e7ok zordur. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc uzayzamandaki etkileri \u00e7ok zay\u0131ft\u0131r. \u00d6rne\u011fin D\u00fcnya ile G\u00fcne\u015f\u2019in aras\u0131ndan ge\u00e7en k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar iki g\u00f6k cismi aras\u0131ndaki mesafenin atom \u00e7ekirde\u011fi \u00f6l\u00e7e\u011finde de\u011fi\u015fmesine sebep olur. Bu y\u00fczden Einstein, genel g\u00f6relilik kuram\u0131n\u0131 ilk geli\u015ftirdi\u011finde k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131n hi\u00e7bir zaman g\u00f6zlemlenemeyece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc.<\/p>\n<p>Y\u0131llar i\u00e7erisinde k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalarla ilgili pek \u00e7ok \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma yap\u0131ld\u0131. Dalgalar\u0131n varl\u0131\u011f\u0131na i\u015faret eden ilk veriler do\u011frudan de\u011fil dolayl\u0131yd\u0131. Russell Huse ve Joe Taylor bir y\u0131ld\u0131z \u00e7iftinde k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar yay\u0131lmas\u0131 sonucunda meydana gelecek de\u011fi\u015fiklikler hakk\u0131nda ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 hesaplar yapt\u0131 ve sonu\u00e7lar\u0131n g\u00f6zlemlerle uyum i\u00e7inde oldu\u011funu g\u00f6sterdi. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar bu ba\u015far\u0131lar\u0131 i\u00e7in 1993 y\u0131l\u0131nda Nobel Fizik \u00d6d\u00fcl\u00fc\u2019yle onurland\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>K\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131n do\u011frudan g\u00f6zlemlenmesiyse ancak yak\u0131n zamanlarda m\u00fcmk\u00fcn oldu. LIGO detekt\u00f6rlerinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar 2016\u2019n\u0131n \u015eubat ay\u0131nda iki kara deli\u011fin birle\u015fmesi s\u0131ras\u0131nda yay\u0131lan k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131 do\u011frudan g\u00f6zlemlediklerini a\u00e7\u0131klad\u0131. Ayr\u0131ca a\u00e7\u0131klamada birle\u015fmenin 1,3 milyar \u0131\u015f\u0131k y\u0131l\u0131 uzakl\u0131kta ger\u00e7ekle\u015fti\u011fi, birle\u015fen kara deliklerin k\u00fctlesinin G\u00fcne\u015f\u2019inkinin 36 ve 29 kat\u0131, olu\u015fan yeni kara deli\u011fin k\u00fctlesininse G\u00fcne\u015f\u2019inkinin 62 kat\u0131 oldu\u011fu belirtildi. K\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131n do\u011frudan g\u00f6zlemlenmesi hi\u00e7 \u015f\u00fcphesiz 2016\u2019n\u0131n en \u00f6nemli bilimsel geli\u015fmelerinden biri oldu. Ancak bu geli\u015fme zihinlere baz\u0131 sorular da getirdi. K\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131 elektromanyetik dalgalar\u0131n (\u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n) aksine do\u011frudan \u201cg\u00f6remiyoruz\u201d. Peki \u00f6yleyse g\u00f6zlemlenen dalgalar\u0131n kayna\u011f\u0131 nas\u0131l biliniyor? K\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalar\u0131n kayna\u011f\u0131n\u0131n belirlenmesini sa\u011flayan kuramsal hesaplard\u0131r. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar uzun zamand\u0131r Einstein alan denklemlerini kullanarak \u00e7e\u015fitli fiziksel s\u00fcre\u00e7ler s\u0131ras\u0131nda yay\u0131lacak k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimsel dalgalarla ilgili benzetimler yap\u0131yordu. LIGO detekt\u00f6rlerinde g\u00f6zlemlenen dalga \u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcs\u00fcn\u00fcn iki kara deli\u011fin birle\u015fmesinden kaynakland\u0131\u011f\u0131 da daha \u00f6nceleri yap\u0131lan bu benzetimlerin sonu\u00e7lar\u0131ndan yararlanarak belirlendi.
